思い出

さんねんまえに、ははとひこうきでひろしまへいきました。はちじかんぐらいかかりました。ひろしまではなまつりがありました。はなまつりはきれいし、たのしいし、それにひとがおおかったです。あかいはなとあおいはながありました。わたしわははにふるいはなのとけいをくれました。いちばんたいせつものです。ははにもらったんです。

わたしのすきなもの

私の好きな人は私の母です。はははとてもしんせつできれいです。母のなまえはベチさんです。母は十八歳。ほんとう！若いでしょう？はははりょうりをすることできます。まいにちやさいとにくをたべます。これは母のとる写真です。

ふゆ休み

ふゆやすみにかぞくとブッシュガーデンズ(Busch Gardens)へいきました。ブッシュガーデンズのたべものはすてきです。ハンバーガーやステークをたべました。おなかがいっぱいでしたから、たべることができまんせんでした。ブッシュガーデンズでローラーコースターへあそびにきました。ブッシュガーデンズのローラーコースターはこわかったです。わたしはなきたかったです。チータとあそびました。

二十ねんごのわたし

わたしはアメリカにいます。バプティストびょういんのいしゃです。せいしんかいです。げつようびからきんようびまではたらきます。いっしゅうかんにろくじゅうじかんぐらいはたらきます。やすみはどようびとにちようびだけです。私の仕事はとても忙しいですが、バプティストびょういんはすてきなびょういんです。うちからびょういんまでくるままで１２ふんかかります。くるまはちかてつよりべんりです。

かぞくはよにんです。りょうしんとあねがいます。りょうしんとあねはわたしのうちにいます。はははいしゃです。ちちもいしゃです、バプティストびょういんではたらきません。ホープびょういんのいしゃです。あねはぎんこういんです。まいにちごぜんごじにおきます。ぎんこうはとおいですから。

にちようびのごごテニスをします。わたしはテニスがちっとじょうずです。たいていともだちとテニスをします。そして、ときどきははとちちとこうえんでテニスをします。

まいばんかんこくごをべんきょうします。らいねんのしがつにひとりでひこうきでかんこくへいきます。わたしはがっこうでがくせいににほんごをおしえます。

わたしのスケジユール

こんばんはみなさん。まいあさわたしはろくじにおきます。それからごぜんはちじからごぜんくじまであさごはんをたべます。それからげつようびからきんようびまでちかてつでがっこへいきます。ごごいちじにともだちとしょくどうでひるごはんをたべます。いつもごごしちじからくじまでにほんごをべんきょうします。じゅうじにねことねます。ときどきどようびわたしわでんしゃでひとりでびじゅつかんへいきます。はちじににほんごのCDをききます。にちようびともだちとちかてつできょうかいへいきます。

Why did I choose to study Japanese language?

Looking back on my first week of college, Japanese was definitely not my first language choice. I really had (and still do) a passion for the French and Korean languages. During high-school I took four years of French so naturally I wanted to continue it. And I was always interested in Korean. I have watched countless hours of Korean drama and listened to so many different Korean bands I practically felt Korean. However, when I went to the language fair and stopped by the Korean booth, the two teachers presenting the booth were surprisingly unenthusiastic. I still loved Korean culture but this lackluster presentation completely turned me off. In contrast, when I gazed over at the Japanese booth all of the teachers were so full of life and animated. Due to their enthusiasm, I was drawn to the booth like a moth to a flame. They gave out Japanese candy and one of the teachers even wrote my name in Katakana for me. It was at this point that I knew I was hooked on taking Japanese. Now don't get me wrong I am no stranger to Japanese culture. I have over 1000+ hours of anime under my belt. Yes, that doesn't mean that I know everything about Japanese culture but I at least have a foot in the threshold. I am excited about learning all the different forms of Japanese writing (Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji). They are all so deeply embedded in Japanese culture and I want to understand their role in Japanese life. Ironically, the most challenge part of my few weeks of Japanese has been learning the Hiragana. The class was so fast paced that I felt overwhelmed trying to memorize new Hiragana characters everyday. Although a few quizzes suffered, I overcame this obstacle and now know all (most ;)) of the Hiragana characters.
